Battery positive voltage (B+) is applied at the memory seat module (MSM) via CKT 2040 (ORN). The MSM tests the battery positive voltage (B+) in order to determine if the voltage is within a valid operating range.
DTC MSM B1983 sets when the battery positive voltage (B+) falls below 9 volts.
The MSM will try to write the status of the DTC to EEPROM. No other status will write to EEPROM while the DTC is current.
DTC MSM B1983 will clear when the battery positive voltage (B+) is greater than 9.5 volts.
DTC MSM B1983 will disable the setting of most other MSM DTCs.
The number(s) below refer to the step number(s) on the diagnostic table.
This test ensures that the DTC did not set falsely.
This test determines if the malfunction is in the charging system or the MSM.
