Inspect the SUNRF fuse in the rear junction block.

Is the fuse open?

Repair the short to ground in CKT 343 (YEL).

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the sunroof control module connectors C1 and C2.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to RUN.
  3. Connect a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) across connector C1 terminal C and chassis ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Connect a DMM across connector C1 terminals C and D.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Close the sunroof use the following method if necessary:
  2. 1.1. Partially lower the headliner.
    1.2. Locate the slot in the track transmission.
    1.3. Using a flat-bladed screwdriver, apply upward pressure in order to release the clutch and manually turn the transmission.
  3. Connect a DMM set to ohms scale across connector C2 terminals 1 and 8.

Is the measured resistance equal to the specified value?

Infinite (OL)

  1. Connect a DMM set to ohms scale across connector C2 terminals 5 and 6.
  2. Slide the sunroof switch forward, then backward.

Is the measured resistance less than the specified value when the switch is pressed forward and when the switch is pressed backwards?

5 ohms

  1. Connect a DMM across connector C2 terminals 5 and 7.
  2. Push the sunroof switch up, then down.

Is a closed circuit indicated for both switch positions?

  1. Connect the sunroof control module connectors C1 and C2.
  2. Use a DMM in order to backprobe connector C1 terminals A and B.
  3. Push the sunroof switch in the following directions:
  4. • Backward
    • Forward, until the sunroof closes fully
    • Up
    • Down

Is the voltage within the specified limits for each switch position?

10-15 V

Repair the open in CKT 343 (YEL).

Is the repair complete?

Repair the open in CKT 650 (BLK).

Inspect the following circuits for an open or a short to ground:

    • CKT 100 (BRN)
    • CKT 128 (WHT)
    • CKT 144 (DK BLU)

Are the circuits OK?

Repair the open or the short to ground in the following circuits:

    • CKT 100 (BRN)
    •  CKT 128 (WHT)
    • CKT 144 (DK BLU)

Is the repair complete?

Replace the sunroof switch. Refer to Sunroof Switch Replacement .

Replace the sunroof control module. Refer to Power Sunroof Express Module Replacement .

Inspect CKT 127 (DK GRN ) and CKT 129 (LT GRN) for an open, short to ground, or short to battery positive voltage (B+).

Are the circuits OK?

Repair CKT 127 (DK GRN) or CKT 129 (LT GRN).

Replace the sunroof actuator. Refer to Power Sunroof Motor Replacement .

Repair CKT 132 (RED) or CKT 133 (YEL).

  1. Ensure that any of the components removed during diagnosis are installed in place.
  2. Ensure that all of the connectors are connected.
  3. Repeat the system check. Refer to Power Sunroof System Check .

Is the system check complete?
