Removal Procedure

Important: Whenever the motor is removed from the vehicle, both the track and the motor must be synchronized before installation. Refer to Track and Motor Synchronization .

  1. Remove the formed headliner at the rear. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  2. Remove the 2 screws attaching the motor to the roof panel.
  3. Important: Note the location of the wire connectors before disconnecting.

  4. Disconnect the wiring connectors from the motor.

Installation Procedure

Important: Whenever the motor is removed from the vehicle, both the track and the motor must be synchronized before installation. Refer to Track and Motor Synchronization .

  1. Connect the wiring harness connectors to the express module (2).
  2. Synchronize the motor. Refer to Track and Motor Synchronization .
  3. Install the motor to the roof and the transmission.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the screws attaching the motor to the roof panel.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  7. Install the formed headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
