Removal Procedure
Important: Ensure that the window is in the full-up position.
- Remove the trim panel. Refer to
Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement

- Remove the water deflector. Refer to
Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement
.
- Remove the outside handle rod from the latch.
- Remove the plugs (3).
- Remove the 2 fasteners (2) from the handle assembly.
- Gently flex the lower ribs to the side in order to allow the ribs
to disengage from the outer panel flange.
- Remove the outside handle (1).
Installation Procedure
- Install the outside handle (1).
- Apply pressure at the lower portion of the handle assembly and
snap the ribs into place.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the fasteners (2).
Tighten
Tighten the 2 fasteners (2) to 7 N·m (62 lb in).
- Install the rod to the latch. Push up on the outside handle rod
in order to remove excess play in the system.
- Install the rod in the clip.
- Install the plugs (3).
- Install the water deflector. Refer to

- Install the trim panel. Refer to
