Removal Procedure
- Remove door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
- Remove the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
- Disconnect the wire harness retaining bracket from the door lock assembly.
- Disconnect the outer door handle linkage from the door lock assembly.
- Disconnect the inner door handle linkage from the door lock assembly.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors (1) from the door lock assembly.
- Remove the fasteners retaining the door lock assembly.
- Remove the door lock assembly from the door.
Installation Procedure
- Install the door lock assembly to the door.
- Connect the electrical connectors (1) to the door lock assembly.
- Connect the inner door handle linkage to the door lock assembly.
- Connect the outer door handle linkage to the door lock assembly.
- Connect the wire harness retaining bracket to the door lock assembly.
- Install the water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
- Install the door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Install the fasteners.
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
