Removal Procedure

    Important: Mark the location of the door hinge (upper and lower) on the door.

  1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement or Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement or Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  3. Disconnect all of the electrical connections from the door electrical components.
  4. Remove the check link from the body.
  5. Remove the rubber conduit from the door.
  6. Disconnect the wire harness from the door.
  7. Support the door. Remove the hinge-to-door bolts.
  8. Remove the door with the aid of an assistant.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the door to the hinge with the aid of an assistant.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the hinge-to-door bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 48 N·m (36 lb ft).

  5. Install the check link to the body.
  6. Connect the wire harness to the door.
  7. Install the rubber conduit to the door.
  8. Connect all of the electrical connections to the door electrical components.
  9. Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement or Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  10. Install the trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement or Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
