Removal Procedure
- Remove the cruise control cable from the module. Refer to
Cruise Control Cable Replacement
.
- Disconnect the electrical
connector from the module assembly.
- Remove the 2 nuts (1) from the mounting studs.
- Remove the cruise control module assembly (2) from the
mounting studs.
- Remove the fasteners (3)
that retain the module (1) to the bracket (2).
- Remove the module (1).
Installation Procedure
- Install the module (1)
to the mounting bracket (2).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the fasteners (3)
in order to retain the module (1) to the mounting bracket (2).
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 6.5 N·m (57 lb in).
- Install the module assembly (2)
on the mounting studs.
- Install the 2 nuts (1).
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Connect the electrical connector to the module assembly.
- Install the cruise control cable to the module assembly. Refer

- Adjust the cable. Refer to
Cruise Control Cable Adjustment
