Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical.

    2. Object Number: 262703 Size: SH
  2. Disconnect the cruise control cable at the TBI cam (3) and the throttle body bracket (1).

    3. Object Number: 325857 Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the cruise control cable from the cruise control module.

    4. Turn the cable lock (3) until the cable disengages from the module (1).

  4. Release the cable (2) from the connector on the module cord (4).

    5. Object Number: 262704 Size: SH

    Important: Note the cable routing for replacement.

  5. Remove the cable (2) from the retainers (1).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 325857 Size: SH

    Important: The nylon cord from the module must be flat. The cord must not be twisted.

  1. Connect the cruise control cable (2) to the cruise control module cord connector (4).
  2. Seat the cable end (3) into the module (1).

    3. Turn the cable until the cable is locked to the module (1).

  3. Install the cruise control cable slug to the TBI cam (3). Ensure that the cable is under the hook.
  4. Snap the cable to the throttle body bracket (1).

    5. Object Number: 262704 Size: SH
  5. Install the cable (2) to the retainers (1).
  6. Adjust the cable. Refer to Cruise Control Cable Adjustment .
  7. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
