Did you perform the Vehicle Theft Deterrent (VTD) System Check?

  1. Disconnect the PASS-Key® III module.
  2. Use the digital multimeter (DMM) in order to measure the voltage at the harness connector terminal A to ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Use the DMM in order to measure the voltage at the harness connector terminal E and ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Go to Step 4

Use a DMM in order to measure the voltage across the harness connector terminal E and terminal B.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Locate and repair an open or a short in CKT 40 (ORN). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Locate and repair an open or a short in CKT 1020 (PNK). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Locate and repair an open or a short in CKT 351. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
