  1. Disconnect the blower motor connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  3. Turn the blower speed to HIGH.
  4. Measure the voltage between the blower motor connector terminal A and ground. Refer to Measuring Voltage in Wiring Systems.

Does the voltage equal the specified value?

12 V

Go to Step 2

Measure the voltage between the blower control module output connector terminal A and terminal B. Refer to Measuring Voltage in Wiring Systems.

Does the voltage equal the specified value?

12 V

  1. Inspect the blower motor connector terminals for proper contact.
  2. If the terminal contact is OK, replace the blower motor. Refer to Blower Motor and Fan Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Measure the voltage between the blower control module input connector terminal B and ground. Refer to Measuring Voltage in Wiring Systems.

Does the voltage equal the specified value?

12 V

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 8

Measure the voltage between the blower control module input connector terminal C and ground. Refer to Measuring Voltage in Wiring Systems.

Does the voltage equal the specified value?

5 V

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 12

Measure the voltage at the HVAC programmer connector for the HVAC blower control output. Refer to Measuring Voltage in Wiring Systems.

Does the voltage equal the specified value?

5 V

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 11

Replace the HVAC programmer. Refer to Blower Motor Control Module Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Inspect B+ to the blower control module for an open or a blown fuse.

Is the repair complete?

( If a fuse replacement results in a blown fuse then Go to Step  10 . )

Go to Step 9

Test the ground supply to the blower control module for an open.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Replace the blower control module. Refer to Blower Motor Control Module Replacement .

Inspect the blower speed input circuit from the HVAC control assembly for an open.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

  1. Turn the ignition off.
  2. Disconnect the blower control module input connector.
  3. Test for a short in the blower control module connector from pin C to pin A. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is a short present?

--

Go to Step 13

Inspect the blower speed output circuit from the HVAC control assembly to the blower control module for a short to ground.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK
