Effective July 29, 1986 (Julian Date 210, Figure 1), all 1987 THM 440-T4 transaxles were built using a new design input housing and shaft assembly (626) as indicated in Figure 2.
When servicing the input clutch housing and shaft assembly on a 1984 through 1988 THM 440-T4 transaxle use the new seal installation tools, J37361 and J37362 (Figure 3). The previous design tools, J34091 and J34092 will only work on 1984-86 transaxles.
