Battery Discharges Or No Crank - keywords box drain draw glove intermittent lamp light low switch

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Intermittently the battery will go dead over night and/or the engine will not crank.

Check for the glove box lamp for staying illuminated. If the glove lamp is staying Illuminated, Follow the steps below.

1. File a product report per Bulletin 02-00-89-002F
2. Replace the Foam stop pad for the glove box lamp switch with a denser rubber pad (obtain locally) of the same size. It will be necessary to remove the glove box to gain access to the pad.
3. Recheck and make sure the glove box lamp is turning off.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
