The purpose of this bulletin is to inform Saturn retailers of three different options to cut keys for the new 2008 Saturn VUE. The new 2008 Saturn VUE uses a key that is not compatible with the current Exacta key cutting machine, SA9703.

Saturn retailers have three alternatives:

    • Order key blank (uncoded/uncut), P/N 96464220, and cut the key using an electronic key cutting machine such as the Barnes PC + Flash or ILCO Ultracode.
    • Order key blank (uncoded/uncut), P/N 96464220, and sublet the key cutting operation to a GM dealership or other outside source with the appropriate equipment.
    • U.S. Retailers: Order a pre-cut key, P/N 19178527, using your Saturn Retailer System (SRS) parts computer. The finished key will be shipped via Fedex Overnight. For orders placed prior to 11:30 AM Eastern time, the cut key should be received the next day. When ordering a pre-cut key, use the following process:
        1. On the Parts Inquiry screen, enter quantity then TAB and enter P/N 19178527 and press FIELD EXIT and then ENTER.
        2. Enter Customer Name and Phone Number and press ENTER.
        3. Type an "L" in the "*" field to locate and press ENTER.
        4. In the Instrument Cluster Information box, input the Service Order number if available or enter a "0" and press FIELD EXIT.
        5. In the Mileage Field, enter the 4 numbers of the key code (found on the Key Code Look-Up inquiry in GM DealerWorld). Do not enter the alpha character, only the 4 numbers of the key code in this field. Press FIELD EXIT and ENTER.
        6. If a valid service order has been provided, the VIN field will populate. If a valid service order number was not supplied, enter the entire 17-character VIN and press F5 - ACCEPT.
        7. On the Locate Screen, enter "1" in the HOST Order field and press ENTER, then CMD5.
        8. On the Saturn Warehouse Delivery Mode screen, select the delivery option needed. "1" for overnight or "3" for overnight with Saturday delivery (on Friday). The supplier will ship all keys overnight priority.
    • Canadian Retailers: Order a pre-cut key. Refer to Saturn Saab SPO Bulletin number SS2007-090 (May 2007) for further details.
