J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
  2. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Replacement.
  3. Remove the condenser mounting brackets and reposition the condenser.

  4. Object Number: 1922927  Size: SH
  5. Remove the receiver dryer bottom cap (1).

  6. Object Number: 1922952  Size: SH
  7. Remove the desiccant bag (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1922952  Size: SH
  1. Install the desiccant bag (2).
  2. Lubricate the O-rings on the plug with refrigerant oil before installing. Refer to O-Ring Replacement.
  3. Caution: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1922927  Size: SH
  4. Install the bottom plug (1) and tighten to 12.5 N·m (111 lb in).
  5. Install the condenser brackets, then tighten the plug to 8 N·m (71 lb in).
  6. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Replacement.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Add the proper amount of oil. Refer to Refrigerant System Capacities.
  9. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
  10. Leak test the fittings of the component with J 39400-A .
