Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement LE5
Removal Procedure
- Remove the drive belt. Refer to
Drive Belt Replacement.
- Remove the drive belt tensioner bolt.
- Remove the drive belt tensioner.
Installation Procedure
- Position the drive belt tensioner.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the drive belt tensioner bolt and tighten to
45 N·m (33 lb ft).
- Install the drive belt. Refer to
Drive Belt Replacement.
Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement LAT
Removal Procedure
- Remove the drive belt. Refer to
Drive Belt Replacement.
- Remove the generator starter bolts and position generator starter aside.
- Remove the drive belt tensioner bolts (2).
- Remove the drive belt tensioner (1).
Installation Procedure
Warning: To avoid personal injury, only remove the tensioner shipping clip when the tensioner is properly mounted to the engine and the accessory drive belt is in place and properly routed.
- Position the drive belt tensioner (1).
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the drive belt tensioner bolts (2).
• | Tighten the top bolt to
22 N·m (16 lb ft). |
• | Tighten the lower bolt to
58 N·m (43 lb ft). |
- Position the generator starter to the vehicle and install the bolts.
- Tighten the generator starter bolts in the following sequence.
Tighten the bolts to
58 N·m (43 lb ft).
- Install the drive belt. Refer to
Drive Belt Replacement.
- Using a 6 point socket on the hex boss on the drive belt tensioner, release the tension and remove the shipping clip by hand. Discard the clip.
