DEFINITION: Late shift from the N position to D and I positions or excessive shock felt when shifting into gear

    â€¢ Shift solenoid valve C inoperative
    â€¢ 1st clutch, pressure control solenoid inoperative
    â€¢ 2nd clutch, pressure control solenoid inoperative
    â€¢ TCC lock-up, pressure control solenoid inoperative
    â€¢ Shift cable broken or out of adjustment
    â€¢ Joint in the shift cable and the transmission or the body worn
    â€¢ Input speed sensor inoperative
    â€¢ Output shaft speed sensor inoperative
    â€¢ ATF temperature sensor inoperative
    â€¢ CPC valve A inoperative
    â€¢ CPC valve B inoperative
    â€¢ CPC valve C stuck
    â€¢ Foreign material in the spacer plate orifice
    â€¢ Shift valve C inoperative
    â€¢ Shift valve E inoperative
    â€¢ Servo control valve inoperative
    â€¢ 1st accumulator inoperative
    â€¢ 1st check ball stuck

    â€¢ Inspect the MIL indicator for loose connectors.
    â€¢ Inspect the O-ring and the shift solenoid valve for seizure.
    â€¢ Inspect the valve body gasket of the AT clutch pressure control solenoid.
    â€¢ Inspect the ATF feed pipes for wear and damage.
    â€¢ Inspect the CPC valves if the AT clutch pressure control solenoid valve is stuck.
    â€¢ Inspect for a loose shift cable at the shift lever and the transmission control lever.
    â€¢ Inspect the 1st clutch pressure.
    â€¢ Inspect the clutch piston, the clutch piston check valve, and the O-rings.
    â€¢ Inspect the clutch piston return spring retainer for wear and damage.
    â€¢ Inspect the clutch backing-plate-to-top-disc clearance.
    â€¢ If the clearance is out of tolerance, inspect the clutch discs and plates for wear and damage.
    â€¢ If the discs and plates are worn or damaged, replace the discs and plates as a set. If the discs and plates are in satisfactory condition, adjust the clutch backing plate clearance.
