Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
in Engine Electrical.
- Remove the instrument panel (I/P) compartment. Refer to
Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- Remove the right side heater outlet assembly retainer.
- Remove the right side heater outlet assembly.
- Disconnect the recirculation actuator electrical
connector.
- Disconnect the aspirator hose and position the hose aside.
For vehicles equipped with automatic climate control only.
Caution: Blower resistor card has sharp edges and may be very hot if blower was used
prior to servicing.
- Remove the blower motor resistor screws.
- Use the electrical harness to pull the resistor card out of the module.
- Disconnect the blower resistor card from the electrical connector.
Installation Procedure
- Connect
the blower motor resistor electrical connector to the resistor card.
- Install the blower resistor card into the slot in the module with the
circuit side facing towards the rear of the vehicle. The resistor will only fit one
way.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the blower motor resistor screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.0 N·m (9 lb in).
- Connect the recirculation actuator electrical
connector.
- Install the I/P compartment. Refer to
Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- Install the right side heater outlet.
- Install the right side heater outlet retainer.
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
in Engine Electrical.
