Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 893318 Size: SH

    Caution: Do not allow smoking or the use of open flames in the area where work on the fuel or EVAP system is taking place. Anytime work is being done on the fuel system, disconnect the negative battery cable, except for those tests where battery voltage is required.

    Caution: Whenever fuel line fittings are loosened or removed, wrap a shop cloth around the fitting and have an approved container available to collect any fuel.

  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
  2. Disconnect the vacuum line.
  3. Remove the retaining bolts.
  4. Remove the fuel pressure regulator.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 893317 Size: SH

    Important: O-rings must be oiled with clean engine oil and installed into the fuel rail before the fuel pressure regulator is installed.

  1. Install a small, oiled O-ring into the fuel rail.
  2. Install the large, oiled O-ring into the fuel rail.
  3. Install the fuel pressure regulator into the fuel rail.

    4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the retaining bolts.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel pressure regulator bolts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  5. Connect the vacuum line.
  6. Energize the fuel system.
  7. Run the vehicle and inspect for leaks.
