This light will come on briefly when you turn the ignition key to "RUN". If it doesn't come on then, have it fixed so it will be ready to warn you if there's a problem.

If the "REDUCED POWER" light and the "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light comes on, a noticeable reduction in the vehicles's performance may occur. If the "REDUCED POWER" light comes on but there is no reduction in performance, proceed to your destination. Vehicle performance may be reduced the next time the vehicle is driven.

Note: The "REDUCED POWER" light turn on to indicate a problem is present. If the condition is corrected in the same ignition cycle, the "REDUCED POWER" light will remain on until the ignition is turned off for at least 10 seconds.

The vehicle may be driven at a reduced speed while the "REDUCED POWER" light is on, but acceleration and speed may be reduced. Any time the "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" light stays on, the vehicle should be taken to an authorized Saturn retailer as soon as possible for diagnosis and repair.
