Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 891761  Size: SH
  1. Disengage the console park brake boot by squeezing the boot on the sides while pulling upward.
  2. Loosen the park brake adjuster nut to provide adequate slack in the park brake cable.
  3. Caution: Ensure that the vehicle is properly supported and squarely positioned. To help avoid personal injury when a vehicle is on a hoist, provide additional support for the vehicle on the opposite end from which the components are being removed.

  4. Raise the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  6. Disconnect the exhaust resonator from the exhaust manifold pipe.

  7. Object Number: 892074  Size: SH
  8. Remove the exhaust pipe to the body isolators.
  9. Lower the exhaust resonator pipe and the muffler assembly from the vehicle.

  11. Remove the exhaust heat shield.

  12. Object Number: 891922  Size: SH
  13. Remove the front park brake cable from the equalizer.
  14. Remove the front park brake cable from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 891922  Size: SH
  1. Install the front park brake cable into the equalizer.

  2. Object Number: 891761  Size: SH
  3. Lower the vehicle and adjust the nut to take up the slack in the cable.
  4. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
  5. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 892075  Size: SH
  6. Install the exhaust heat shield.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the heat shield-to-body fasteners to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  8. Install the exhaust onto the vehicle and tighten the resonator to the exhaust manifold pipe fasteners.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the resonator pipe-to-exhaust manifold pipe to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  10. Lower the vehicle from the hoist.
  11. Adjust the park brake cable. Refer to Park Brake Adjustment .
