Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 893629 Size: SH
  1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel - Front Removal.
  2. Remove the water deflector.

    3. Object Number: 893702 Size: SH
  3. Remove the manual lock rod.

    4. Object Number: 893595 Size: SH
  4. Remove the upper weather-strip from the rear of the window.

    5. Object Number: 893712 Size: SH
  5. Remove the lower rear window guide, 1 bolt.

    6. Object Number: 893728 Size: SH
  6. Push down to remove the guide from the lock tab.
  7. INSERT GRAPHIC SMGDR79671AA2

    8. Remove the inside door handle with the actuator rod from the latch mechanism.

  8. INSERT GRAPHIC SMGGDR79152AA1

    9. Use a permanent marker to mark the lock cylinder rod to latch mechanism relationship for correct installation.

  9. Remove the latch/lock mechanism from the door.
  10. Slide the lock rod off lock cylinder arm.
  11. Remove the power door lock electrical connector and the 2 actuator rods from the latch mechanism.

  12. Remove the latch with lock rod.
  13. Remove the lock rod from the latch mechanism.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 892478 Size: SH
  1. Install the lock rod to cylinder.
  2. INSERT GRAPHIC SMGGDR79152AA1

    3. Install the power door lock electrical connector to the latch mechanism.

  3. Install the actuator rod from the outside door handle to latch mechanism.

    4. Object Number: 892478 Size: SH
  4. Install the lock cylinder rod to latch mechanism.
  5. INSERT GRAPHIC SMGGDR79152AA1

    6. Install the latch/lock mechanism to the door.

  6. Tighten the top screw firs, bottom screw second, and middle screw last.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the door latch/lock assembly-to-door fasteners to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Install the manual lock rod.

  8. Install the lower rear window guide from the bottom up, slide the tab/lock into slot in the door frame and install the bolt.

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the lower rear window guide fasteners to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  9. Install the weather-strips around the upper door frame.
  10. Install the trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel - Front Installation.
  11. Run the window up and down to verify operation. If the binding exists, inspect all weather-strips for incorrect installation.
