Crank No Start Condition after Campaign 05522 - keywords 05514 camshaft LSJ nostart position seal sensor

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.

Some 2004-05 Saturn Ion Redline vehicles may experience a crank no start condition after performing the campaign 05522, with no codes set and no problems found. Suspect a possible camshaft sensor alignment condition after replacement of the seal.

If the vehicle did not exhibit the condition before the campaign, recheck alignment of the camshaft sensor. To insure proper sensor alignment, removing and reinstalling the sensor again may be warranted. Follow the procedures in the bulletin for TDC #4. If unsure TDC is actually #4 put air in the cylinder. It should hold pressure. Align the sensor and then put a paint dot as shown to help as a visual during installation.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
