The passenger compartment air filter traps most of the pollen from the air entering
you vehicle. Like your vehicle's engine air filter, it will need to be changed periodically.
A substantial reduction in air flow indicates that the filter needs to be replaced.

To remove the passenger compartment filter:
- Open the glove compartment and remove all articles
inside. The access door for the passenger compartment air filter is located behind
the glove box.
- Locate the doorstop insulators on the door stop track on each side of
the glove box.
- Remove the door stop insulators from both sides of
the glove box.
- Tilt the glove box door down by squeezing
in on each side of the glove box until the doorstop can be lowered from its track.
- Lower the glove box door completely.
- Open the passenger compartment air filter door by
reaching through the opening in the rear of the glove box and raising the tab until
the door can be opened downward.
- Remove the filter by sliding it out of the passenger compartment filter
housing.
To replace the passenger compartment air filter:
- Make certain that the air flow indicator arrow is pointing down. Install
the new filter by sliding it into the passenger compartment air filter housing.
- Close the passenger compartment air filter door and
snap the tab down to latch the door.
- Raise the glove box door until the doorstops contact the frame. Slowly
raise the door until the door stops snap into their tracks.
- Replace the contents of the glove box and close the door.
- Install the door stop insulators into the doorstop tracks.
- Replace the contents of the glove box and close the door.
