Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the luggage shade from the liftgate.

    2. Remove the 2 cords.

  2. Remove the top right and left liftgate garnish moldings.
    3. • Remove the 2 luggage shade brackets.
    • Remove the 8 clips.

  3. Disconnect the wiring harness plugs (2) from the liftgate.

    4. Remove the wiring harness plug from the bracket.

  4. Remove the rear window wiper/washer hose (1) from the liftgate.
  5. Remove the rear body wiring harness from the liftgate.
    6. • Remove the rubber grommets (3).
    • Remove the wiring harness with the rear window wiper/washer hose from the liftgate and reposition.

  6. Remove the securing rings (3 and 6) from the liftgate hinge pins.

    7. Remove the 2 securing rings.

    Caution:  When a hood hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

    Notice: Apply pressure only at the end of the liftgate/hood assist rod that you are removing or attaching. Do NOT apply pressure to the middle of the rod because damage or bending will result.

  7. Disengage the struts from the liftgate.

    8. Remove the 2 retaining clips (1 and 2)

    Important: Avoid damaging the paint.

  8. Remove the liftgate.
    9. • Protect the edges of the liftgate with adhesive tape.
    • Remove the 2 struts.
    • Remove the 2 liftgate hinge pins (4 and 5).

Installation Procedure

    Important: Observe corrosion protection measures for cavity sealing.

  1. When replacing the liftgate, transfer the attaching parts.

    2. Important: 

       â€¢ Avoid damaging the paint.
       â€¢ Before installation, lube the hinge pins with light grease.

  2. Install the liftgate.
    3. • Install the 2 liftgate hinge pins.
    • Install the 2 struts.
  3. Install the struts to the liftgate.

    4. Install the 2 retaining clips.

  4. Install the securing rings on the liftgate hinge pins.

    5. Install the 2 securing rings.

  5. Pull the rear body wiring harness into the liftgate.
    6. • Pull in the wiring harness with the liftgate window wiper/washer hose.
    • Install the rubber grommet.
  6. Install the liftgate window wiper/washer hose.
  7. Connect the liftgate wiring harness plug.

    8. Connect the wiring harness plug into the bracket.

  8. Install the top right and left liftgate inner paneling.
    9. • Install the 8 clips.
    • Install the 2 luggage shade brackets.
  9. Install the luggage shade to the liftgate.

    10. Install the 2 cords.
