Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front wheel bearing and hub. Refer to Front Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement .
  2. Disconnect the lower ball joint and separate the steering knuckle from the lower control arm. Refer to Lower Control Arm Replacement .
  3. Disconnect the outer tie rod end from the steering knuckle. Refer to Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 1937811  Size: SH
  5. Remove the steering knuckle from the spring strut support tube.
  6. • Remove the 2 nuts.
    • Remove the 2 bolts (1) from the spring strut support tube.
    • Remove the steering knuckle.

Installation Procedure

    Important: Tightening to torque does not take place until camber has been adjusted.

  1. Install the steering knuckle to the spring strut support tube.
  2. • Use the 2 new bolts.
    • Install the 2 new nuts.
  3. Connect the lower ball joint to the steering knuckle. Refer to Lower Control Arm Replacement .
  4. Attach the outer tie rod end to the steering knuckle. Refer to Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement .
  5. Install the front wheel bearing and hub. Refer to Front Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement .
  6. Adjust the camber. Refer to Front Camber Adjustment .
  7. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  8. Tighten the 2 screwed joint, spring strut support tube to the steering knuckle, in 3 stages.
  9. Tighten

    1. Tighten the 2 spring strut support tube to steering knuckle bolted connections to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the 2 new spring strut support tube to steering knuckle screwed joint to 85 N·m (62 lb ft).
    3. Tighten the 2 new spring strut support tube to steering knuckle screw connection an additional 75 degrees plus 15 degrees.
