The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Some customers may complain about noises from the lower part of the steering column when the steering wheel is turned and/or going over bumps. This noise may be coming from the interface of the I shaft to the boot at the front of dash or the connection between the I shaft and steering column.

Recommendation/Instructions:

For retailers within a 4 hour drive from Warren MI (Detroit), please contact Findel Whitaker at 586-947-7293. He is the steering column Design Release Engineer and is interested in witnessing and root causing this concern.

Note: For all other retailers please repair as needed.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
