Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle prior to using this diagnostic procedure.

The powertrain control module (PCM)/engine control module (ECM) monitors the cruise control indicator switch. When the cruise on/off switch is switched ON, the cruise control switch is closed and the signal circuit is high. When the cruise on/off switch is switched OFF, the cruise control switch is open and the signal circuit is low.

1. Ignition ON, verify that the Cruise Lamp parameter in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) inputs reads On.

⇒	If the parameter displays Off, replace the IPC.

2. Observe the Cruise Control Active parameter in the PCM/ECM.

⇒	If the parameter reads Off, replace the IPC.

⇒	If the parameter displays On, replace the PCM/ECM.

Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.
