Subject:No AM or FM Radio Reception

Models:2009 Pontiac Vibe

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

A condition has been identified that could cause the radio to have poor A/M and F/M reception. One possible cause has been identified as the radio antenna cable wiring being cut at the right side "A" pillar. This is normally found on very low mileage vehicles, and you will need to remove the passenger side "A" pillar trim to inspect the antenna cable wiring.

Note: The antenna module is located in the antenna mast base.

Recommendation/Instructions:

If the radio antenna cable is damaged, replace the antenna cable harness assembly. If not then inspect the rest of the cable along the right side roof rail/headliner to the antenna base for damage.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
