Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2007 🢒 Vibe - FWD 🢒 Safety and Security 🢒 Seat Belts 🢒 Seat Belt Retractor Replacement - Left Rear

Removal Procedure
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
  2. Remove the left rear seat. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement.
  3. Remove the left rear seat hinge. Refer to Rear Seat Back Cushion Outer Hinge Replacement.
  4. Remove the left rear door sill trim. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement.
  5. Remove the left rear seat garnish trim.
  6. Remove the rear storage compartment. Refer to Rear Storage Compartment Replacement.
  7. Remove the rear compartment access panel. Refer to Rear Accessory Panel Replacement.
  8. Remove tool storage access panel. Refer to Rear Accessory Panel Replacement.
  9. Remove tool storage tray.
  10. Remove child tether upper anchor brackets. Refer to Child Restraint Tether Anchor Replacement .
  11. Remove the left lower quarter trim panel. Refer to Quarter Lower Rear Trim Panel Replacement.

  12. Remove the seat belt upper anchor bolt trim cover (1).
  13. Remove the seat belt upper anchor bolt (8).
  14. Remove the shoulder belt guide (7).
  15. Remove the seat belt lower anchor bolt (5).
  16. Remove the rear seat belt retractor upper mounting bolt (3).
  17. Remove the rear seat belt retractor lower mounting bolt (4).
  18. Remove the rear seat belt retractor assembly (2).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 832164 Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the rear seat belt retractor (2) to the vehicle. Secure the retractor with the upper mounting bolt (3) and the lower mounting bolt (4).

    2. Tighten

        • Tighten the rear seat belt retractor upper mounting bolt to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
        • Tighten the rear seat belt retractor lower mounting bolt to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).
  2. Install the rear seat belt lower anchor bolt (5).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the rear seat belt lower anchor bolt to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  3. Install the shoulder belt guide (7). Secure with bolt (8).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the rear seat belt upper anchor bolt to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  4. Install the upper anchor bolt trim cover (1).
  5. Install the left lower quarter trim panel. Refer to Quarter Lower Rear Trim Panel Replacement.
  6. Install the child tether upper anchor brackets. Refer to Child Restraint Tether Anchor Replacement .
  7. Install the tool storage compartment tray.
  8. Install the tool storage access panel. Refer to Rear Accessory Panel Replacement.
  9. Install the rear compartment access panel. Refer to Rear Accessory Panel Replacement.
  10. Install the rear storage compartment. Refer to Rear Storage Compartment Replacement.
  11. Install the left seat garnish trim.
  12. Install the left rear door sill trim. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement.
  13. Install the left rear seat hinge. Refer to Rear Seat Back Cushion Outer Hinge Replacement.
  14. Install the left rear seat. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement.
  15. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
