Seat Belt Height Adjuster Replacement - Front Driver Side

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.




1. Disable the SIR System. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
2. Remove the seat belt shoulder guide. Refer to Seat Belt Retractor Pretensioner Replacement - Left Front.
3. Remove the front side door sill trim plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement .
4. Remove the rear side door sill trim plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement.
5. Remove the center pillar lower trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement.
6. Remove the center pillar upper trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement.
7. Remove the following components from the vehicle:

•

The bolt

•	The front seat shoulder belt retractor tension adjuster (1)

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

1. Install the front seat shoulder belt retractor tension adjuster (1) to the vehicle. Secure the adjuster with the bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the front seat shoulder belt retractor tension adjuster bolt to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

2. Install the center pillar upper trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement.
3. Install the center pillar lower trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement.
4. Install the seat belt shoulder guide. Refer to Seat Belt Retractor Pretensioner Replacement - Left Front.
5. Install the front side door sill trim plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement.
6. Install the rear side door sill trim plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement.
7. Enable the SIR System. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.

Seat Belt Height Adjuster Replacement - Front Passenger Side

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.




1. Disable the SIR System. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
2. Remove the seat belt shoulder guide. Refer to Seat Belt Retractor Pretensioner Replacement - Right Front.
3. Remove the front side door sill trim plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement.
4. Remove the rear side door sill trim plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement.
5. Remove the center pillar lower trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement.
6. Remove the center pillar upper trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement.
7. Remove the following components from the vehicle:

•

The bolt

•	The front seat shoulder belt retractor tension adjuster (1)

Tighten the front seat shoulder belt retractor tension adjuster bolt to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

3. Install the center pillar lower trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement.
4. Install the seat belt shoulder guide. Refer to Seat Belt Retractor Pretensioner Replacement - Right Front.
5. Install the front side door sill trim plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement .
6. Install the rear side door sill trim plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement .
7. Enable the SIR System. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
