Removal Procedure
Important: When installing a new hose assembly add 30 ml (1.0 fl oz) of refrigerant oil to the refrigeration system.
- Discharge and recover the refrigerant. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
Important: Cap the open fittings to prevent dirt and moisture from entering the refrigeration system.
- Remove the bolt (11) and the condenser inlet tube (12) from the condenser.
- Remove the bolt (7) and the compressor hose assembly from the compressor (6).
- Remove the 2 nuts (2) and the hose brackets from the vehicle.
- Remove the suction line (3) from the evaporator tube.
- Remove the compressor hose assembly from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install new O-rings lubricated with 525 viscosity mineral oil.
- Position the compressor hose assembly into the vehicle.
- Install the suction line (3) to the evaporator tube.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the hose brackets to the vehicle. Secure with the 2 nuts (2).
Tighten
Tighten the nuts (2) to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Install the compressor hose assembly to the compressor (6). Secure with the bolt (7).
Tighten
Tighten the compressor hose assembly bolt (7) to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the condenser inlet tube (12) to the condenser. Secure with the bolt (11).
Tighten
Tighten the bolt (11) to 5.4 N·m (48 lb in).
- Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system. Refer to
Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
.
- Operate the A/C system and test for refrigerant leaks. Refer to
Leak Testing
.
