Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 856569 Size: SH
  1. Remove the 2 engine cover fasteners.
  2. Remove the 2 engine cover plastic retainers.
  3. Remove the engine cover (1) from the engine.

    4. Object Number: 621682 Size: SH
  4. Remove the ignition coils (1, 2, 3, 4).
  5. Disconnect the following components from the cylinder head cover:
    6. ā€¢ The hose clamps
    ā€¢ The 2 positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hoses

  6. Remove the following components from the cylinder head:
    7. ā€¢ The 9 bolts
    ā€¢ The 2 nuts
    ā€¢ The 2 seal washers
    ā€¢ The cylinder head cover (1), with the gasket

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 234134 Size: SH

    Important: Use a new cylinder head cover gasket and new seal washers whenever the cylinder head cover replacement procedure is performed.

    Ensure that the new gasket and the new seal washers are correctly positioned during the cylinder head cover installation.

  1. Install the new cylinder head cover gasket to the cylinder head cover.
  2. Install the new seal washers to the cylinder head cover.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the cylinder head cover to the cylinder head. Secure the cover using 9 bolts and 2 nuts (1, 2, 3).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the cylinder head cover bolts and nuts to 10 NĀ·m (89 lb in).

  4. Install the ignition coils (1, 2, 3, 4).
  5. Reconnect the following components to the cylinder head cover:
    6. ā€¢ The hose clamps
    ā€¢ The 2 positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hoses

  6. Position the engine cover (1) to the engine.
  7. Install the 2 engine cover plastic retainers.
  8. Install the 2 engine cover fasteners.
