Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
- Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
.
- Clean the brake hose and the fittings.
- Loosen the brake hose to brake pipe fitting.
- Remove the brake hose retainer.
Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution in the Preface section.
Notice: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Notice in the Preface section.
- Remove the brake hose from the brake pipe.
- Install a cap or a plug to the brake pipe fitting in order to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
- Remove the bolt (1) from the bracket.
- Remove the brake hose from the bracket.
- Remove the fitting (2) from the caliper.
- Remove the brake hose (1) from the caliper.
- Remove and discard the brake hose gasket.
- Install a cap or a plug to the caliper in order to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
Installation Procedure
- Remove the cap or the plug from the caliper.
- Install the following components to the caliper:
• | A NEW brake hose gasket |
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Tighten the fitting.
Tighten
Tighten the fitting to 29 N·m (21.4 lb ft).
- Install the brake hose (4) to the bracket.
- Install the bolt (1).
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 29 N·m (21.4 lb ft).
- Remove the cap or the plug from the brake pipe.
- Install the brake hose and the retainer to the brake pipe.
Tighten
Tighten the fitting to 15.2 N·m (11.21 lb ft).

- Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to
Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding
.
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
.
- Lower the vehicle.
