Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 2017567 Size: SH
  1. Remove engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
  2. Remove ignition coil assembly. Refer to Ignition Coil Replacement.
  3. Remove the 2 ventilation hoses (1, 2) from the cylinder head cover.

    4. Object Number: 2017568 Size: SH
  4. Remove the 2 bolts (1, 2) and separate the 2 wire harness brackets.

    5. Object Number: 2017569 Size: SH
  5. Remove the 8 bolts (1-7, 9) and 2 nuts (8, 10), then remove the cylinder head cover and gasket.

Installation Procedure
  1. Remove any old sealing material from the contact surface.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 2017607 Size: SH
  2. Install the cylinder head cover gasket and cover with the 8 bolts (1, 2) and 2 nuts (3), then tighten.
    3. • Bolt (1) to 11 N·m (8 lb ft)
    • Bolt (2) to 14 N·m (10 lb ft)
    • Nut (3) to 11 N·m (8 lb ft)

  3. Install the 2 engine wire harness brackets with the 2 bolts (1, 2) and tighten to 8.4 N·m (74 lb in).

    4. Object Number: 2017567 Size: SH
  4. Connect the 2 ventilation hoses (1, 2) to the cylinder head cover.
  5. Install ignition coil assembly. Refer to Ignition Coil Replacement.
  6. Inspect for oil leak.
  7. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
