Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
  2. Remove the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.
  3. Remove the air cleaner case.

    4. Object Number: 2011791 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the speed sensor connector (2).
  5. Remove the bolt and speed sensor (1).

    6. Object Number: 2011792 Size: SH
  6. Remove the O-ring from the speed sensor.

Inspection Procedure

    Object Number: 2011794 Size: SH
  1. Inspect the speed sensor.
  2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s).

    3. Standard Resistance

    • Tester Connection: 1-2
    • Condition: 20°C (68°F)
    • Specified Condition: 560 to 680 Ω
  3. If the resistance value is not as specified, replace the speed sensor.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 2011792 Size: SH
  1. Coat a new O-ring with ATF WS and install it to the speed sensor.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 2011792 Size: SH
  2. Install the speed sensor with the bolt and tighten to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
  3. Install the air cleaner case.
  4. Install the air cleaner cover.
  5. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
