J-35566 Drive Shaft Boot Clamp Pliers
Disassembly Procedure
- Remove the rear wheel drive shaft. Refer to
Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement
- Remove the rear wheel drive shaft inner joint boot. Refer to
Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Inner Joint Boot Replacement.
- Remove the smaller rear drive shaft outboard joint boot clamp. Discard the clamp.
- Remove the larger rear drive shaft outboard joint boot clamp. Discard the clamp
- Remove the outboard joint boot from the outboard joint shaft assembly.
Note: Do not disassemble the outboard joint.
- Remove the old grease from the rear drive outboard joint shaft assembly.
Assembly Procedure
- Install new parts to the outboard joint shaft in the following order:
1.1. | Smaller rear wheel drive outboard joint boot clamp |
1.3. | Larger rear wheel drive outboard joint boot clamp |
- Pack the outboard joint shaft assembly and outboard joint boot with grease from the boot kit.
Specification
Grease capacity: 100 g (3.6 oz)
- Install the rear wheel drive shaft outboard joint boot clamp.
- Crimp the smaller boot retaining clamp using
J-35566 clamp pliers
- Using a suitable tool (1), measure the clearance of the boot clamp.
Note: If the measured value exceeds the specified value, retighten the clamp.
- Inspect the clearance of the rear wheel drive shaft outboard joint boot clamp.
Specification
Clearance: 1.0 mm (0.0394 in)
- Install the larger rear drive shaft inboard joint boot clamp.
- Crimp the larger boot retaining clamp using
J-35566 clamp pliers
- Using a suitable tool (1), measure the clearance of the boot clamp.
Note: If the measured value exceeds the specified value, retighten the clamp.
- Inspect the clearance of the larger rear wheel drive shaft outboard joint boot clamp.
Specification
Clearance: 1.0 mm (0.0394 in)
- Install the rear wheel drive shaft inner joint boot. Refer to
Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Inner Joint Boot Replacement.
- Install the rear wheel drive shaft. Refer to
Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement
