J-35566 Drive Shaft Boot Clamp Pliers

Disassembly Procedure

  1. Remove the rear wheel drive shaft. Refer to Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement
  2. Remove the rear wheel drive shaft inner joint boot. Refer to Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Inner Joint Boot Replacement.

  3. Object Number: 2025990  Size: SH
  4. Remove the smaller rear drive shaft outboard joint boot clamp. Discard the clamp.

  5. Object Number: 2026028  Size: SH
  6. Remove the larger rear drive shaft outboard joint boot clamp. Discard the clamp
  7. Remove the outboard joint boot from the outboard joint shaft assembly.
  8. Note: Do not disassemble the outboard joint.

  9. Remove the old grease from the rear drive outboard joint shaft assembly.

Assembly Procedure

  1. Install new parts to the outboard joint shaft in the following order:
  2. 1.1. Smaller rear wheel drive outboard joint boot clamp
    1.2. Outboard joint boot
    1.3. Larger rear wheel drive outboard joint boot clamp
  3. Pack the outboard joint shaft assembly and outboard joint boot with grease from the boot kit.
  4. Specification
    Grease capacity: 100 g (3.6 oz)

  5. Install the rear wheel drive shaft outboard joint boot clamp.

  6. Object Number: 325997  Size: SH
  7. Crimp the smaller boot retaining clamp using J-35566 clamp pliers

  8. Object Number: 2026048  Size: SH
  9. Using a suitable tool (1), measure the clearance of the boot clamp.
  10. Note: If the measured value exceeds the specified value, retighten the clamp.

  11. Inspect the clearance of the rear wheel drive shaft outboard joint boot clamp.
  12. Specification
    Clearance: 1.0 mm (0.0394 in)

  13. Install the larger rear drive shaft inboard joint boot clamp.

  14. Object Number: 325997  Size: SH
  15. Crimp the larger boot retaining clamp using J-35566 clamp pliers

  16. Object Number: 2026060  Size: SH
  17. Using a suitable tool (1), measure the clearance of the boot clamp.
  18. Note: If the measured value exceeds the specified value, retighten the clamp.

  19. Inspect the clearance of the larger rear wheel drive shaft outboard joint boot clamp.
  20. Specification
    Clearance: 1.0 mm (0.0394 in)

  21. Install the rear wheel drive shaft inner joint boot. Refer to Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Inner Joint Boot Replacement.
  22. Install the rear wheel drive shaft. Refer to Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement
