Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor Replacement Front

Removal Procedure
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
  2. Remove the front door sill plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement.
  3. Remove the rear door sill plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement.
  4. Remove the center pillar lower trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement.
  5. Remove the front seat belt retractor. Refer to Seat Belt Retractor Pretensioner Replacement - Left Front or Seat Belt Retractor Pretensioner Replacement - Right Front.

    6. Object Number: 2022915 Size: SH
  6. Remove the side impact sensor electrical connector (1).
  7. Remove the side impact sensor fastener.
  8. Remove the side impact sensor (2).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 2022915 Size: SH
  1. Install the side impact sensor.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Install the side impact sensor fastener (1).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the fastener to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  3. Install the side impact sensor electrical connector (2).
  4. Install the front seat belt retractor. Refer to Seat Belt Retractor Pretensioner Replacement - Left Front or Seat Belt Retractor Pretensioner Replacement - Right Front.
  5. Install the center pillar lower trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement.
  6. Install the rear door sill plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement.
  7. Install the front door sill plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement.
  8. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.

Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor Replacement Rear

Removal Procedure
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
  2. Remove the rear door sill plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement.
  3. Remove the rear seat garnish molding. Refer to Body Side Rear Garnish Molding Replacement.
  4. Remove the side impact sensor (SIS) electrical connector.

    5. Object Number: 1462759 Size: SH
  5. Remove the SIS fastener (2).
  6. Remove the SIS (1).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1462759 Size: SH
  1. Install the SIS (1).

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Install the SIS fastener (2).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the fastener to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  3. Install the SIS electrical connector.
  4. Install the rear seat garnish molding. Refer to Body Side Rear Garnish Molding Replacement.
  5. Install the rear door sill plate. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement.
  6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling.
