For 1990-2009 cars only
Removal Procedure
- Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
- Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
- Remove the air cleaner cap sub-assembly with hose.
- Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector (3) and the 2 wire harness clamps (1, 2).
- Disconnect the ventilation hose and loosen the hose clamp (2).
- Unlock the 2 clamps (1) and remove the air cleaner cap sub-assembly with hose.
- Disconnect the throttle body connector (1) and the 2 water by-pass hoses (2).
- Remove the 2 bolts (2, 4) and the 2 nuts (1, 3), and remove the throttle body assembly.
- Remove the gasket (1) from the intake manifold.
Installation Procedure
- Install a new gasket (1) onto the intake manifold.
- Install the throttle body assembly with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts and tighten to 10N·m (7 lb ft).
- Connect the 2 water by-pass hoses (2) and the throttle body connector (1).
- Install the air cleaner cap sub-assembly with hose and lock the 2 clamps.
- Tighten the hose clamp (1) to 2.0N·m (18 lb in).
- Connect the ventilation hose (1).
- Connect the wire harness clamp (1, 2) and mass air flow meter connector (3).
- Add engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
- Inspect for a coolant leak.
- Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
