Installation Procedure

  1. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief.
  2. Remove the engine cover.
  3. Remove the quick connect coupling cover of the fuel feed hose.

  4. Object Number: 2038310  Size: SH
  5. Using the J 43178 disconnect tool , disconnect the quick connect coupling of the fuel feed hose from the fuel feed pipe of the fuel rail. Use a shop towel in order to catch any remaining fuel that may leak. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
  6. Install the CH-48027 gage between the fuel feed pipe of the fuel rail and of the fuel feed hose.
  7. Install the CH-48027 gage and tighten securely.
  8. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  9. Connect the negative battery cable and tighten the retainer to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
  10. Turn ON the ignition in order to pressurize the fuel system.
  11. Turn OFF the ignition.
  12. Check for any fuel leaks.

Removal Procedure

  1. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to the Fuel Pressure Relief.
  2. Remove the CH-48027 gage .
  3. Using the J 43178 disconnect tool , disconnect the quick connect coupling of the CH-48027 gage from the fuel feed pipe of the fuel rail. Use a shop towel in order to catch any remaining fuel that may leak.
  4. Disconnect the quick connect coupling of the fuel feed hose from the CH-48027 gage , and remove the adapter. Use a shop towel in order to catch any remaining fuel that may leak.

  5. Object Number: 2038328  Size: SH
  6. Connect the quick-connect fitting of the fuel feed hose (2) to the fuel feed pipe (1) of the fuel rail. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
  7. Install the cover for the quick connect coupling of the fuel feed hose.
  8. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  9. Connect the negative battery cable and tighten the retainer to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
  10. Turn ON the ignition in order to pressurize the fuel system.
  11. Turn OFF the ignition.
  12. Check for any fuel leaks.
  13. Install the engine cover.
