Removal Procedure
- Drain the engine coolant. Refer to

- Remove the engine cover. Refer to
Engine Cover Replacement
- Remove the air cleaner cap with hose.
- Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector (1).
- Separate the 2 wire harness clamps (2, 3).
- Disconnect the vacuum switching valve connector (2) and the 2 vacuum hoses (1, 3).
- Disconnect the ventilation hose (1).
- Loosen the air cleaner hose clamp (1), and unlock the 3 air cleaner assembly clamps (2, 3, 4) and remove the
air cleaner cap sub-assembly with hose.
- Remove the throttle body assembly.
- Disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses (1, 2).
- Disconnect the throttle body assembly connector (1).
- Disconnect the throttle body hose (1).
- Remove the 4 bolts (1, 2, 3, 4) and the throttle body assembly.
- Remove the gasket (1) from the intake manifold.
Installation Procedure
- Install a new gasket (1) onto the intake manifold.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the throttle body assembly with the 4 bolts (1, 2, 3, 4) and tighten to
30 N·m (22 lb ft)
- Connect the throttle body hose (1).
- Connect the throttle body connector (1).
- Connect the 2 water by-pass hoses (1, 2).
- Install the air cleaner cap with hose.
- Install the air cleaner cap sub-assembly with hose and lock the 3 clamps (2, 3, 4).
- Tighten the air cleaner hose clamp (1).
- Connect the ventilation hose (1).
- Connect the 2 vacuum hoses (1, 3) and the vacuum switching valve connector (2).
- Connect the 2 wire harness clamps (2, 3) and the mass air flow meter connector (1).
- Add engine coolant. Refer to
Engine Cover Replacement
- Inspect for coolant leak.
- Install the engine cover. Refer to
Engine Cover Replacement
