Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2009 🢒 Vibe - AWD 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 1.8L (LAY) 🢒 Piston and Connecting Rod Disassemble

  1. Using a piston ring expander (1), remove the 2 compression rings.
  2. Remove the oil ring rail and oil ring expander by hand.

    3. Object Number: 2017261 Size: SH
  3. Using a screwdriver, pry out the 2 snap rings.

    4. Object Number: 2017263 Size: SH
  4. Gradually heat each piston to approximately 80-90°C (176-194°F).

    5. Object Number: 2017264 Size: SH

    Note: The piston and pin are a matched set and arrange the pistons, pins, rings, connecting rods and bearings in the correct order.

  5. Using a plastic hammer and brass bar, lightly tap out the piston pin and remove the connecting rod.
