Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2009 🢒 Vibe - AWD 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 1.8L (LAY) 🢒 Intake Camshaft and Valve Lifter Removal

    Object Number: 2016733 Size: SH
  1. Uniformly loosen and remove the 10 bearing cap bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.

    2. Object Number: 2016734 Size: SH
  2. Uniformly loosen and remove the 15 bearing cap bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.

    3. Note: Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.

  3. Remove the 5 bearing caps.

    4. Object Number: 2016737 Size: SH
  4. Remove the intake camshaft.

    5. Object Number: 2016738 Size: SH
  5. Remove the exhaust camshaft.

    6. Object Number: 2017067 Size: SH

    Note: Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.

  6. Remove the 16 valve rocker arms.

    7. Object Number: 2017068 Size: SH

    Note: Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.

  7. Remove the 16 valve lash adjusters from the cylinder head.

  8. Remove the oil control valve filter (1).

    9. Object Number: 2016739 Size: SH
  9. Remove the 2 camshaft bearings from the cap.

    10. Object Number: 2016740 Size: SH
  10. Remove the 2 No. 2 camshaft bearings from the cylinder head.

    11. Object Number: 2016741 Size: SH
  11. Remove the 2 bolts (1,2).

    12. Object Number: 2016744 Size: SH

    Note: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  12. Remove the camshaft housing by prying between the cylinder head and camshaft housing with a screwdriver (1).
