Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2009 🢒 Vibe - AWD 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 1.8L (LAY) 🢒 Intake Manifold Replacement

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 2016449 Size: SH
  1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
  2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
  3. Remove the air cleaner assembly with hose.
  4. Remove the throttle body assembly. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement.
  5. Remove the bolt and wire harness bracket.
  6. Disconnect the 3 hoses.
  7. Remove the 4 bolts (1, 3, 5, 6), 2 nuts (2, 4), intake manifold support and intake manifold.

  8. Remove the gasket (1) from the intake manifold.
  9. Using a TORX® socket E6, remove the 2 stud bolts from the intake manifold.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 2016450 Size: SH
  1. Using a TORX® socket E6, install the 2 stud bolts to the intake manifold and tighten to 5.0 N·m (44 lb in).
  2. Connect the bracket with the bolt and tighten to 10 N·m (8 lb ft).
  3. Install a new gasket (1) into the intake manifold.

    4. Object Number: 2016449 Size: SH
  4. Install the intake manifold and intake manifold support with the 4 bolts (1, 3, 5, 6) and 2 nuts (2, 4) and tighten to 28 N·m (21 lb ft).
  5. Connect the 3 hoses.
  6. Connect the wire harness bracket with the bolt and tighten to 10 N·m (8 lb ft).
  7. Install the throttle body assembly. Refer to Throttle Body Assembly Replacement
  8. Install the air cleaner assembly with hose.
  9. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
  10. Add the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling
  11. Inspect for coolant leak.
