For 1990-2009 cars only
  1. Warm up the engine, then stop the engine and wait for 5 minutes.
  2. Note: Do not fill to above the full level mark.

  3. Check that the engine oil level is between the low level and full level marks on the level gauge. If low, check for leakage and add oil up to the full level mark.
  4. Check the oil for deterioration, water, discoloring or thinning.
  5. If the quality is visibly poor, replace the oil.

  6. Disconnect the oil pressure switch connector.

  8. Using a 24 mm deep socket wrench, remove the oil pressure switch.

  9. Object Number: 2014189  Size: SH
  10. Install the oil pressure gauge.
  11. Warm up the engine.
  12. Remove the oil pressure gauge.
  13. Check the oil pressure.
  14. Specification

        • At Idle - 25 kPa (3.6 psi) or more
        • At 3,000 RPM - 150-550 kPa (22-80 psi)
  15. If the oil pressure is not as specified, check the oil pump.

  16. Object Number: 2014194  Size: SH
  17. Apply adhesive Three Bond 1344 or equivalent. to 2 or 3 threads of the oil pressure switch.
  18. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  19. Using a 24 mm deep socket wrench, install the oil pressure switch and tighten to 15 N·m  (11 lb ft).
  20. Note: Do not start the engine for at least 1 hour after installation

  21. Connect the oil pressure switch connector.
  22. Check for engine oil leaks.
