Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2009 🢒 Vibe - AWD 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Controls and Fuel - 1.8L (LAY) 🢒 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
  2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
  3. Remove the air cleaner cap sub-assembly with hose.

    4. Object Number: 2016647 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector (1).

    5. Object Number: 2016648 Size: SH
  5. Remove the engine coolant temperature sensor (1).

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 2016648 Size: SH
  1. Install the engine coolant temperature sensor (1) through a new gasket and tighten to 20N·m (14 lb ft).

    2. Object Number: 2016647 Size: SH
  2. Connect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector (1).
  3. Add engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
  4. Inspect for a coolant leak.
  5. Install the air cleaner cap sub-assembly with hose.
  6. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
