Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
  2. Remove the right rear seat. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement in Seats.
  3. Remove the right rear seat hinge. Refer to Rear Seat Back Cushion Outer Hinge Replacement in Seats.
  4. Remove the right rear door sill trim. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement in Interior Trim.
  5. Remove the right rear seat garnish trim.
  6. Remove the rear storage compartment. Refer to Rear Storage Compartment Replacement in Interior Trim.
  7. Remove the rear compartment access panel. Refer to Rear Accessory Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  8. Remove tool storage access panel. Refer to Rear Accessory Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  9. Remove tool storage tray.
  10. Remove child tether upper anchor brackets. Refer to Child Restraint Tether Anchor Replacement .
  11. Remove the right lower quarter trim panel. Refer to Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

  13. Remove the rear seat belt upper anchor bolt trim cover (1).
  14. Remove the rear seat belt upper anchor bolt (8).
  15. Remove the shoulder belt guide (7).
  16. Remove the rear seat belt lower anchor bolt (5).
  17. Remove the rear seat belt retractor upper mounting bolt (3).
  18. Remove the rear seat belt retractor lower mounting bolt (4).
  19. Remove the rear seat belt retractor assembly (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 832164  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the rear seat belt retractor (2) to the vehicle. Secure the retractor with the upper mounting bolt (3) and the lower mounting bolt (4).
  2. Tighten

        • Tighten the rear seat belt retractor upper mounting bolt to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
        • Tighten the rear seat belt retractor lower mounting bolt to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).
  3. Install the rear seat belt lower anchor bolt (5).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the rear seat belt lower anchor bolt to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  5. Install the shoulder belt guide (7). Secure with bolt (8).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the seat belt upper anchor bolt to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  7. Install the rear seat belt upper anchor bolt trim cover (1).
  8. Install the right lower quarter trim panel. Refer to Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  9. Install the child tether upper anchor brackets. Refer to Child Restraint Tether Anchor Replacement .
  10. Install the tool storage compartment tray.
  11. Install the tool storage access panel. Refer to Rear Accessory Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  12. Install the rear compartment access panel. Refer to Rear Accessory Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  13. Install the rear storage compartment. Refer to Rear Storage Compartment Replacement in Interior Trim.
  14. Install the right rear seat garnish trim.
  15. Install the right rear door sill trim. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement in Interior Trim.
  16. Install the right rear seat hinge. Refer to Rear Seat Back Cushion Outer Hinge Replacement in Seats.
  17. Install the right rear seat. Refer to Rear Seat Replacement in Seats.
  18. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
