Removal Procedure
- Open the rear compartment lid.
- Remove the rear compartment trim panel (4).
- Disconnect the tail lamp electrical connectors.
- Remove the following components from the vehicle:
- Remove the following from the tail lamp:
• | The stop lamp socket (2) |
• | The turn signal lamp socket (5) |
- Remove the following from the lamp sockets, if necessary:
• | The turn signal lamp bulb (6) |
Installation Procedure
- Install the following to the lamp sockets, if removed:
• | The turn signal lamp bulb (6) |
- Install the following to the tail lamp:
• | The stop lamp socket (2) |
• | The turn signal lamp socket (5) |
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the tail lamp (7) to the vehicle. Secure the tail lamp (7) with the 3 nuts (3).
Tighten
Tighten the tail lamp nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Connect the tail lamp electrical connectors.
- Install the rear compartment trim panel (4) to the vehicle.
- Close the rear compartment lid.
