Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 868766 Size: SH
  1. Remove the rear side door lock. Refer to Rear Door Lock Replacement .
  2. Remove the following components from the door:
    3. • The torx screw (6)
    • The outside door handle cover (1)

    Object Number: 868783 Size: SH
  3. Pull and hold the release plate of the outside handle frame.

    4. Object Number: 866517 Size: SH
  4. While holding release plate, push the outside handle toward the rear of the door and remove.

    5. Object Number: 868766 Size: SH
  5. Loosen the torx screw (4) and remove the outside handle frame assembly (5), if necessary.
  6. Remove handle gaskets (3) from door, if necessary.

    7. Object Number: 866640 Size: SH
  7. Remove handle clip (1) if necessary, by pressing the upper and lower.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 866640 Size: SH
  1. Install the handle clip to the door (1), if removed.

    2. Object Number: 868766 Size: SH
  2. Install the handle gaskets (3) to the door, if removed.
  3. Install the outside handle frame assembly (5) to the door, if removed.

    4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Secure the door handle frame (5) with the torx screw (4), if removed.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the torx screw to 4.0 N·m (35 lb in).

  5. While holding the release plate, install the outer door handle to the door and slide forward.

    6. Object Number: 868766 Size: SH
  6. Install the outside door handle cover (1).
  7. Secure the outside door handle cover (1) with the torx screw (6).

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the torx screw to 4.0 N·m (35 lb in).

  8. Install the rear side door lock. Refer to Rear Door Lock Replacement .
