Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear side door lock. Refer to
Rear Door Lock Replacement
.
- Remove the following components from the door:
• | The outside door handle cover (1) |
- Pull and hold the release plate of the outside
handle frame.
- While holding release plate, push the outside
handle toward the rear of the door and remove.
- Loosen the torx screw (4) and remove
the outside handle frame assembly (5), if necessary.
- Remove handle gaskets (3) from door, if necessary.
- Remove handle clip (1) if necessary,
by pressing the upper and lower.
Installation Procedure
- Install the handle clip to the door (1),
if removed.
- Install the handle gaskets (3) to
the door, if removed.
- Install the outside handle frame assembly (5) to the door, if removed.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Secure the door handle frame (5) with the torx screw (4), if removed.
Tighten
Tighten the torx screw to 4.0 N·m (35 lb in).
- While holding the release plate, install
the outer door handle to the door and slide forward.
- Install the outside door handle cover (1).
- Secure the outside door handle cover (1) with the torx screw (6).
Tighten
Tighten the torx screw to 4.0 N·m (35 lb in).
- Install the rear side door lock. Refer to
Rear Door Lock Replacement
