Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the manual selector from vehicle. Refer to Manual Selector Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 862451  Size: SH
  3. Remove the push clip (1) from the manual selector plate, then remove the wire harness.
  4. Disconnect the connector (2) from the manual selector plate.

  5. Object Number: 242841  Size: SH
  6. Using a terminal removal tool, remove the 2 white OVERDRIVE switch wires (2) from the OVERDRIVE switch/manual selector illumination lamp electrical connector (1).

  7. Object Number: 862456  Size: SH
  8. Loosen the  2 manual selector knob retaining screws.

  9. Object Number: 862461  Size: SH

    Important: When the manual selector knob is lifted upward, the shift knob button will be released under slight spring pressure.

  10. Gently raise the manual selector knob upward, then remove the manual selector knob button

  11. Object Number: 862488  Size: SH
  12. Remove the manual selector knob sleeve retaining screw, then remove the selector sleeve.

  13. Object Number: 862491  Size: SH
  14. Using a small screwdriver, gently pry the overdrive switch from the manual selector knob, then slowly pull the wires out of the knob.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the OVERDRIVE switch wires into manual selector knob.
  2. Snap the OVERDRIVE switch into the manual selector knob.

  3. Object Number: 862488  Size: SH
  4. Install the OVERDRIVE wires through the manual selector lever sleeve, then secure the sleeve with the lower screw.

  5. Object Number: 862461  Size: SH
  6. Install the manual selector knob onto manual selector assembly, then install the shift button.

  7. Object Number: 862456  Size: SH
  8. Fully seat the manual selector knob on the assembly, then tighten the  2 screws.

  9. Object Number: 862451  Size: SH
  10. Install the 2 white OVERDRIVE switch wires into the OVERDRIVE switch/manual selector illumination lamp electrical connector (2).
  11. Hook the 2 white OVERDRIVE switch wires onto the clip (1) on the manual selector base, then secure with a push clip.
  12. Install the OVERDRIVE switch/manual selector illumination lamp electrical connector (2) into the manual selector assembly.
  13. Install the manual selector assembly into vehicle. Refer to Manual Selector Replacement .
