Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear floor console. Refer to
Rear Floor Console Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
- Loosen the upper park brake cable nut (2).
- Loosen the lower park brake cable nut (3).
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- If the vehicle has front-wheel drive, complete the following steps:
5.2. | Remove the 3 nuts and the front floor forward heat shield. |
5.3. | Remove the 2 nuts and the front floor center heat shield. |
- Remove the 3 park brake cables (6,7,9) from the equalizer (8).
Installation Procedure
- Install the 3 park brake cables (6,7,9) to the equalizer (8).
- If the vehicle has front-wheel drive, complete the following steps:
2.1. | Install the front floor center heat shield and the 2 nuts. |
2.2. | Install the front floor forward heat shield and the 3 nuts. |
Tighten
Tighten the nuts and the bolts to 5.5 N·m (48.68 lb in).
- Inspect the park brake lever travel. Adjust as necessary. Refer to
Park Brake Adjustment
.
- Install the rear floor console. Refer to
Rear Floor Console Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
